I think we reached our target audience because of the feedback we got from our class once we had showed them the opening sequence. From what they could tell of the narrative they seemed sure of what would happen next and were looking forward to watching the rest of the film.
In our planning we made changes to our narrative so that it would suit our target audience more. One change we made was adding the tattoo on the man’s wrist so that the audience know he is a member of a gang. Also in the main location where the man is getting tortured we found chains which we included because we thought that it would have an effect on the audience and make the scene look more real.
One person said that the transition from real time to the flashback was good, where the man’s hand is showed with the tattoo on his hand then the shot changes to a flashback.
The audience said that the black and white effect used for the flashback was effective because the audience could tell that it was a flashback. Also the white flashes during part of the flashback were effective because in the POV shot it acted as a blink. The music was effective as it was suspenseful but also modern which would appeal to our target audience. The titles we used were effective as it related to the opening sequence.
The title sequence went on for long as it was all together which made the audience generally bored. There wasn’t enough filming involved in the production of our opening sequence, more could be added.
The titles could be separated so that the audience do not get bored by them. Suggestions were made that there wasn’t enough filming involved in the production of our opening sequence.
